Whitstable

Had a lovely family trip to visit Rick and George in their beach front hideaway in Whitstable a couple of weeks back. It managed to snow overnight so the beach and mud flats looked amazingly alien when we woke up. More shots of the trip on my Flickr here.

Rough cut

Just back from the recording studio and decided to upload this rough iPhone image of Mark laying down some vocal tracks for his second album. The studios themselves were fairly smart and located in an old church in Wood Green.

On a mission

Off on a musical mission later. Photographing London-based roots musician Mark Harrison as he records his second album. I’ll be keeping it analogue with the Mamiya 6, Nikon FM2 and Kodak Portra. Check out more of Mr Harrison’s wares here»

Mrs Hall was recently commissioned to paint another pet portrait (a close-up of the amazing pencil work above). This bulldog is the now sadly deceased Dextor.

Carpet Triptych

Noticed some oddly geometrically faded and sun-bleached patterns on some carpets in Ally Pally at the weekend.  I thought they looked pleasingly Rothko-esque. These shots taken with an iPhone and post processed.
